Congregation Bayt Shalom is home to a thriving community of children from all over Eastern North Carolina!

Children of all ages learn the important tenets of Jewish faith, Sundays at Talmud Torah, our synagogue’s religious school.  Teachers and parents use carefully selected curriculum to educate the children on judaica, Hebrew and how to practice tikkun olam in their own corner of ENC.

Students also get to witness tikkun olam in action through a series of guest speakers from different walks of life – city council representatives, Holocaust educators, representatives from charitable organizations and more join us on Sunday mornings to explain their roles in making our community a better place.

Children and their families join together for service projects, fundraisers and class trips, both locally and out-of-state  – one recent yard sale enabled the students to travel to Washington, DC to experience the Holocaust Museum with their families.

If you would like to learn more about furthering your child’s Jewish education with us, we’d love to talk!  Contact Marc Miller at or Elizabeth Myers at for more information.
